Management Team
Bruce Wilcox
Bruce Wilcox received his undergraduate and graduate education from University of California at San Diego (BA biology; PhD population biology) and Yale University (MS ecology and evolutionary biology).
Bruce taught conservation biology and environmental science as an Associate Professor in the Human Biology Program at Stanford University in the 1980’s. From 2001 to 2011 he was Professor and Chair of Ecology and Health at University of Hawaii where he also served as Director of the University’s National Science Foundation IGERT project, Integrating Conservation, Ecology and Pathogen Biology.
A founder of the field of conservation biology, the journal Conservation Biology, he also was the founding editor of EcoHealth and first Chief Executive of the International Association for Ecology and Health.
His current research focus is integrative research and its applications in environmental health, tropical disease research, and global health. He is a frequent consultant and advisor to interanational agencies including the World Health Organization on ecological and complex systems applications to environmental health challenges, particularly tropical disease prevention and control.
Carsten Richter
Carsten Richter received his undergraduate and graduate education from Heidelberg University and Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences (Dipl.-Inf. Med.), Mannheim Business School, WBS, and CEIBS (MBA), and the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (Dr. rer. nat. biology).
Carsten has developed change management, process management, crisis management, carbon management, and sustainability management concepts and solutions for multiple international companies.
Since 2017, he is managing director of PCC Consulting GmbH, a software company specialized on digital controlling, financial planning, and integrated cost and performance accounting.
His current research focus lies on infectious diseases, complex systems theory, sustainable development, Ecosystem and One Health approches and standardized, holistic scoring systems for the maturity evaluation and risk assessment of One Health approaches.
